She married Robert Hill born May 16, 1867 in St. Gabriel de Valcartier on October 10, 1893. Shortly after the marriage, they left Quebec for the States and settled in Michigan. The last known address was 213 Franklin St., Village of Houghton, Township of Portage in the County of Houghton.
Ellen and Robert had three children, Maude Hill born April 1895, Michigan; John Hill, born April 1897, Michigan; and Gertrude, born August 1899, Michigan. Robert worked as a Salesman. Where did the children go?

Michael Patrick McLaughlin was born 1856 in St. Gabriel de Valcartier, son of John McLaughlin and Mary Hartery. Michael married Mary Conway, born November 3, 1872 in Ste. Catherine, Quebec, daughter of James Conway and Ann McKenna on August 22, 1899. Right after the wedding, Michael and Mary moved to Merrill, Wisconsin where Michael was foreman for a logging company and worked with his brother Mark.
Michael and Mary had three children William C., born April 28, 1900; Merrill WI, William never married and was Postmaster in Merrill, WI. Elmer John born April 27, 1902 Merrill WI, married and had 3 children, two of whom we are in touch with today. Veronica M. McLaughlin was born in 1907 Merrill, WI and on the 1930 census she was still living at home at the age of 24. Last known address 209 East Second Street, Merrill WI.
