On this day, the sixth of August one thousand eight hundred and seventy, before the undersigned Notary Public for the Province of Quebec in the Dominion of Canada residing in the City of Quebec and witnesses hereinafter named, personally came and appeared Robert Conn of the Municipality of Stoneham of Tewkesbury, Farmer, who being of ill health but of sound and disposing mind, has made as follows his last will and testament.

I give, devise and bequeath to my son, John Conn, all the property, real and personal, moveable and immoveable that I may die possessed of without any exception nor reserve, to have and to hold the same in full ownership from the day of the decease of Margaret Wilson, my beloved wife, to whom I give and bequeath the usufruct and enjoyment of the same during her natural life, at the charge of my said son of paying Jessie Goodfellow, wife of Henry Abraham, and English shilling for all she may claim & have in my future estate.

In the event of my said wife wishing to dispose herself of my said property for the purpose of living elsewhere, then & in that case she will have the right of giving up her usufruct and enjoyment in favor of my said son who will then, after due notice thereof to him given, will be bound and obliged to pay to his mother a life annuity or rent of one hundred dollars by quarterly payments.

This last will and testament received by Cy. Tessier Notary in the presence of the said witnesses having been read to the Testator by the said Notary in the presence of the said witnesses, he the Testator hath declared well to understand the same and has persisted in the same as containing his last will and intention, at Stoneham aforesaid on the day & year first above written at the hour of eight in the afternoon & under the number three thousand five hundred and twenty three.

In the presence of the Reverend Robert Mitchell, Incumbent of Stoneham, and of Thomas Woods of the same place, Farmer, witnesses expressly sent for the purposes of the present deed.

In testimony whereof the Testator has signed with and in the presence of the said Notary and witnesses who have also signed their names in the presence of the said Testator and of one another, after the reading done according to law.

Two marginal notes good. Fifteen words erased are null.
