On this twenty ninth day of October one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, before me Cyrille Renaud, Notary, residing at Loretteville, undersigned, personally came and appeared William Crawford, Senior, Farmer, residing in the parish of St. Gabriel of Valcartier, who being of sound and disposing mind, memory, and understanding hath requested me the said Notary and witnesses to write down and receive in due form of law his last will and testament which he has declared in manner and form following, that is to say:

1º I desire that all my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses be paid as soon as possible after my death.

2º I give and bequeath to my son Thomas Crawford all my moveable and immoveable properties wherever the same may be found and to whatsoever the same shall amount hereby constituting my said son Thomas Crawford my universal legatee at the charge to pay the sum of one hundred dollars to each of his sisters, Elizabeth and Alice Crawford, after my death.

3º I nominate, constitute and appoint my said son as Executor of this my will and testament.

4º I revoke all will and testament I may have heretofore made and I declare the present to be my only true last will and testament.

Done and passed at Loretteville under notarial number six thousand seven hundred and eight. After the reading of the present will by the Notary to the Testator in presence of Jules Couture, Clerk of the Bank, and Jacques Verret, Joiner, both of Loretteville, witnesses, the Testator, the Notary and witnesses have signed in the presence of each other.

Notes by Patricia Balkcom:  William died seven years later on the 25th of October 1922 in his seventy-fifth year.  Although he and Hannah had more than one child, only Thomas is mentioned in this will.
