On the eighth day of November in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety three, before us the undersigned Notary Public residing in the Parish of St. Charles Borromée of Charlesbourg, at the requisition of Mrs. Julia Foran, wife of David Berryman, Farmer, residing in the Parish of St. Brigitte of Laval, lying in a bed, sick, but of sound and perfect mind, memory, and understanding as appeared to the said Notary and witnesses called for that purpose who after having recommended her soul to God hath in view of death, made, dictated and named her present last will and testament unto the said Notary in presence of William Stapleton and Richard Rockett, Farmer of the said Parish of St. Brigitte in the manner following, that is to say:

1º I will and direct that my lawful debts be paid and my wrongs, if any there be, be fully satisfied, but the Executor of my present last will & testament hereinafter named, so soon as conveniently may be, after my decease.

2º I do hereby give and bequeath to Miss Helen Berryman, my daughter, who lives with me the sum of one hundred dollars once for all to be paid by my Executor as soon as possible after my decease without interest.

3º As to my funeral I leave the whole to the discretion of my Executor hereinafter named.

I do hereby give and bequeath all my property moveable and immoveable, real and personal, which I may have or of which I may be entitled to, at the time of my decease of what nature and quality the same may be or wherever situated, to David Berryman, my beloved husband to have and to hold my said property unto the said David Berryman in full property from the day of my decease constituting the said David Berryman my universal legatee.

I do hereby nominate and appoint the said David Berryman as Executor of my present last will and testament unto whose hands I divest and dis-seize myself of my said property according to the custom.

I do hereby revoke all other wills and codicils which I may have made previously to this one, which alone I consider as containing my last will and desire.

It was thus done, named and dictated unto the said Notary and witnesses hereunto present by the said Mrs. Julia Foran, Testatrix and her present last will and testament having been duly read over and read over again unto the said Testatrix by the said Notary in presence of the undersigned witnesses she declared the same to be her last true will and testament and persisted in the said disposition at the said Parish of St. Brigitte of Laval on the day, month and year first above written, under the number two thousand two hundred and forty five. And the said Testatrix requested to sign, has declared not to know how to write nor sign these presents having been first duly read and read over again according to law.
