On this twenty sixth day of the month of January one thousand eight hundred and eighty three, before Mtre. Édouard Antill Panet, the undersigned Notary Public, duly commissioned and sworn in and residing and practicing in the Parish of Saint Raymond in the Province of Quebec and Dominion of Canada and in the presence of Thomas Dean, and Henry Mooney, Farmers, and both of the said Parish of Saint Raymond the witnesses required by law and expressly requested by the Testatrix hereinafter named to witness her last will and testament, came and appeared Dame Jane Gilkison, wife of Thomas Sissons, residing in the said Parish of Saint Raymond well and of sound and disposing mind, memory, judgment and understanding as it appeared unto us Notaries and witnesses from her words and actions yet considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time thereof and being desirous of regulating her worldly affairs whilst yet she hath the health and strength left to do so, hath named, dictated and nominated unto us said Notary in the presence of said witnesses her last will and testament in the manner and form following:
1º I recommend my soul to Almighty God my Creator
2º I will and order that all my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses be first paid by my Executor hereinafter named.
3º I give, devise and bequeath to my well beloved husband, the whole of my moveable property, household furniture, goods, chattels, money in bank or elsewhere, bank stock, and shares in any financial institution, rights and privileges whatsoever, which I may own and possess at the time of my decease without exception or reserve whatsoever to be by my said husband used, enjoyed and disposed of in full property and ownership from the moment of my decease.
4º I hereby approve and ratify and confirm a certain deed of donation intervivos, granted by me and my said husband in favor of our son George Sissons, passed before E.A. Panet, Notary Public, on the twenty sixth day of January eighteen hundred and ninety three.
5º I hereby revoke all other and former last wills and codicils by me heretofore made, and I nominate, constitute and appoint my said beloved husband Executor of this my present last will and testament.
It was thus named, dictated and nominated by the said Testatrix of her own free will and accord to the said undersigned Notary with and in the presence of the said witnesses in the residence of the said Testatrix in the said Parish of Saint Raymond, on the day, month and year first above written and the present will was by the said undersigned Notary read to the said Testatrix in the presence of the said witnesses.
Thus done and passed at Saint Raymond aforesaid in the residence of the said Testatrix.
In testimony whereof, the said Testatrix hath signed the present last will and testament with and in the presence of the said undersigned Notary and in the presence of the said witnesses, who have each signed with and in the presence of the said Testatrix and in the presence of each other, these presents bearing the number four thousand two hundred and eighty three of the original deeds remaining of record in the office of the undersigned Notary.
