Translated from the Original Will at the Quebec Archives

On this sixth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty one, before me Cyrille Renaud, Notary, residing at Loretteville, undersigned, personally came and appeared Edmund Landers, farmer, residing in the parish of Ste. Catherine, farmer, who being of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding hath requested us the said Notary to write down and receive in due form of law his last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say:

1º I most willingly resign my soul into the hands of Almighty God, my Creator, in the humble hope that he will receive it to his favor through the sole merits & intercession of Jesus Christ my Saviour.

2º I desire that all funeral and testamentary expenses be paid by my Executor hereinafter named as soon as possible after my death.

3º I leave & bequeath by equal shares, share & share alike, all the money deposited in the Bank, unto my nephew Peter Powell & my niece Mary Ellen Powell, children of John Powell and my sister Mary Landers.

4º I give and bequeath to my said nephew, Peter Powell, my land and the remainder of my properties. The money in the Bank shall be divided as aforesaid after the payment of my funeral expenses for services, masses & other expenses.

5º I nominate, constitute and appoint the said Peter Powell as Executor of this my will and testament.

6º I revoke all wills and codicils I may have heretofore made & I declare the present to be my only true last will and testament.

Done and executed at Ste. Catherine in the residence of John Powell under notarial number eight thousand seven hundred and thirty four.

After the reading of the present will unto the Testator in the presence of Joseph Griffin & James Thompson, both farmers, residing in the Parish of Ste. Catherine, by the said Notary, the Testator, the Notary and witnesses have signed in the presence of each other.

NOTE: Edmund Landers died three days later on 9 October 1921 aged 59 years.
