Last Will of James Lannin

I, James Lannin, of Valcartier in the District of Quebec, Farmer, declare that this is my last will & testament, made at Valcartier this seventh day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and six.

After my death, I wish all my just debts to be paid by my Executor hereinafter named.

I give and bequeath to my son James all and every my property moveable and immoveable wheresoever situate, constituting him my universal residuary legatee, subject however to the payment of the following legacies & conditions:

That at the time of my death or so soon after as my Executor hereinafter named shall deem it expedient but within a period of not more that one year from my decease, he shall pay to my daughters, Phoebe Ann and Nellie, the sum of two hundred dollars each.

That during the natural life of my said daughters, Phoebe Ann and Nellie, or until such time as they may marry, my said son James Lannin shall provide for their support in the same manner and way that they have been provided for by me.

I hereby name as my Executor for the execution of this my last will my said son James Lannin extending his powers beyond the year and a day.

Signed, sealed, published and declared by me the said James Lannin as and for my last will and testament in the presence of the undersigned witnesses who in my presence at my request & in the presence of each other, have hereunto subscribed & set our names as witnesses at Valcartier this seventh day of November one thousand nine hundred and six.

NOTE: James Lannin died 11 April 1910 and was buried in Valcartier on 13 April 1910, aged 80 years old.
