On this thirty first day of March one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, before me Cyrille Renaud, Public Notary residing at Loretteville, undersigned, personally appeared James Paquet, Farmer, residing in the Parish of St. Gabriel of Valcartier, who being of sound mind, memory and understanding hath requested me the said Notary to write down and receive in due form of law his last will and testament which he has declared in manner and form following, that is to say:

1º I desire that all my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses be paid by my Executrix hereinafter named.

2º I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Elizabeth Armstrong, the use, usufruct, and enjoyment during the term of her natural life of all my moveable and immoveable properties, wherever the same may be found and to whatever the same shall amount, hereby constituting my said wife my universal usufructuary legatee.

3º After the death of my said wife I desire that all my said moveable and immoveable properties become the property of my son James Paquet, junior, Farmer, residing at Valcartier hereby constituting my said son my universal legatee en vue propriété.

4º I nominate, constitute and appoint my said wife as Executrix of this my will and testament and I revoke all will and testament I may have heretofore made and I declare the present to be my only true last will and testament.

Done and passed at Loretteville under Notarial Number six thousand one hundred and eleven. After the reading of the present will to the Testator by the Notary in presence of Jules Couture, Accountant, and Alphonse Alain, Saddler, both of the Parish of St. Ambroise, the Testator having declared his inability to sign his name has made his mark in presence of the Notary and witnesses and the Notary and witnesses have signed in presence of the Testator and in the presence of each other.

NOTE: James Paquet of Stoneham, Bachelor, married Elizabeth Armstrong, Spinster, Valcartier on 24 June 1872 in the Quebec Wesleyan Methodist Church, Quebec City.
