Quebec City The Quebec Chronicle 1847-1924 (excellent for family obits).  This newspaper had many name changes;

Quebec City – Morning Chronicle 1847-1850 (excellent for family obits)

Quebec City Morning Chronicle and Commercial and Shipping Gazette 1850-1898 (mixed results in regard to family obits)

Quebec City – Quebec Morning Chronicle 1888-1898 (excellent for family obits)

Quebec City Quebec Mercury – 1805-1903 (the best source in Quebec City during that period of time for family obits of English speaking families of the region)

Quebec City The Quebec Gazette – 1892-1898 (not a good source for family obits)

Quebec City The Quebec Chronicle and Gazette – 1898-1906 (I have never used this newspaper)

Quebec City Quebec Weekly Chronicle – 1888-1892 (I have never used this newspaper)

Montreal The Montreal Witness – 1845-1938 (I have never used this newspaper in regard to family obits, my primary sources were the Montreal Gazette and the Montreal Daily Star)

Montreal Daily Witness – 1874-1893 (I have never used this newspaper)

Montreal The Vindicator – 1828-1837 – (A newspaper about the Irish people of Montreal)
