On this eleventh day of November one thousand nine hundred and twenty four, before me Cyrille Renaud, Notary, residing at Loretteville, undersigned, personally appeared William Bedard, Farmer, residing in the Parish of St. Gabriel of Valcartier, who being of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, hath requested me the said Notary and witnesses to write down and receive in due form of law his last will & testament which he has declared in manner and form following, that is to say: -

1- I most willingly resign my soul into the hands of Almighty God, my Creator, in the humble hope that he will receive it to his favor through the sole merits and intercession of Jesus Christ, my Saviour.

2- I desire that all my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses be paid by my Executrix after my death.

3- I leave and bequeath to my wife, Dora Emma Neil, all my moveable and immoveable properties wherever the same may be found and at whatever the same shall amount hereby constituting my said wife my universal legatee, with the sole charge & obligation to pay to each of my sons, Russell William & Gordon Francis Bedard to each of them the sum of five hundred dollars at the age of majority to each of them but the said sum shall not be hypothecate nor mortgage on the immoveable properties, and my said wife will have the right to mortgage or sell the said if she likes.

4- I nominate, constitute and appoint my said wife Dora Emma Neil my universal legatee and the Executrix of this my will and testament.

5- I revoke all wills I may have heretofore made and I declare the present to be my true last will and testament.

Done & passed at Valcartier in the residence of said William Bedard under notarial number nine thousand six hundred and ten.

After the reading of the present will to the Testator in presence of William Neil & Thomas Lavallee, both of Valcartier, farmers, by the Notary, the Testator, the Notary and witnesses have signed in the presence of each other.
