(Witness) Baptism | 11 June 1859 | Andrew Sweeney; West Flamborough, Wentworth County, Ontario, Canada; Listed as: Andrew Sweeney, born May 20, 1859. Baptized in West Flamborough on June 11, 1859 by Fr. John O'Reilly. Parents were Francis Sweeney and Margaret Gallaher. Sponsors were John Haise and Mary Haise. (This is another spelling the priest used for the Hayes family. It is possible, although not proven, that these godparents were the parents of Elizabeth Hayes who later married John Sweeney.) (The church in Freelton was not built yet, so the baptism probably took place in the home in West Flamborough. Father O'Reilly was the priest from Dundas and was also the travelling missionary priest to this area. There was a mission church in Morriston, north of Freelton but it appears the baptism did not occur there).2 |

Secondly, I desire that all my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses be paid by my Executor hereinafter named as soon as possible after my death. Thirdly, I give and bequeath to my son Richard Hayes a land being number four hundred and fifty five on the cadastral plan for the Parish of Valcartier bounded in front by River aux Pins, South West by Patrick Hayes and on the North East by William Rourke. Fourthly, I give and bequeath to Robert Hayes my son a sawmill situated on the River aux Pins bounded in front by River aux Pins, on the North west by the from road, on the North East by Mistress Forte(?) and dependencies, this is made at the charge and condition that the said Robert Hayes will work during five years after my death to the profit of my wife Martha McCoubray and family. Fifthly, I give and bequeath all my other moveable and immoveable properties to my said wife Martha McCoubray to the charge by her to pay the sum of three hundred dollars to my son Richard Hayes by instalments of one hundred dollars by year the first instalment beginning one year after my death, and to the charge by my said wife to pay all my just debts. Sixthly, I nominate, constitute and appoint my said wife Martha McCoubray as Executor of this my will. Sevently, I revoke all wills and codicils I may have heretofore made and I declare the present to be my only true last will and testament. The present will was thus declared by the said Testator to the said Notary and witnesses and by the said Notary in presence of said witnesses read to the said testator who declared to understand it fully and to persist therein. Done and passed at the residence of the said Testator at Valcartier the day, month and year first heretofore written under the number six hundred and ninety and signed by the said Testator and witnesses also hereunto subscribing in his presence and in the presence of each other.
