Military*February 1864Fought for the Union Army in the U.S. Civil War. Was a member of Maine Infantry, Regiment 31, Company D, Roll Number 91. Enlisted in February and was mustered out in March. Died in the Confederate States Military Prison Hospital of gunshot wounds received in action in the Battle of the Wilderness on Sept. 30, 1864, near Pegram House, Virginia (near Petersburg). Burial site unknown.3
