Note*between 1871 and 1872Margaret Hogan; Due to his subsequent marriage to Ann Holmes and no evidence of a death record for Margaret, it appears that he and Margaret Hogan were divorced. I have not been able to find Margaret or her two daughters in any later censuses (except that it appears that Bridget, age 16, was living with her Uncle Thomas Hogan in Pembroke in 1881) - do not know where she went or if her name was changed or what happened to Mary Cassin, her mother.
Marriage*27 October 1872Annie Holmes; St. Pauls' Catholic Church, London, Middlesex County, Ontario, Canada; States Thomas was born in Ireland and is 37, parents are Edmund and Mary Lawless and Annie is 27, spinster, born in NY and parents are Henry and Anne Holmes. Death*13 November 1877London, Middlesex County, Ontario, Canada; Thomas threw himself in front of a train while under the influence of alcohol. Several long articles appeared in the London newspapers about this. Of significance is that it states his wife had just had twins a few weeks ago and that he was the father of 5 children - I assume that 2 of these children were Bridget and MaryAnn from his previous marriage to Margaret Hogan since his second wife had three children.6
