On the ninth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy, before us the undersigned Notaries Public residing in the City of Quebec, personally came, appeared and was present Patrick Mc[G]Lennan of the Parish of St. Catherines de Fossambault in the County of Portneuf, Farmer, which said Patrick McGlennan being apparently in good bodily health and of sound and perfect mind, memory and understanding requested us the said Notaries to receive and write down his last will and testament which he instantly made, dictated and named unto us word for word in manner and form following, that is to say:

I recommend my soul to Almighty God hoping for a free pardon and remission of all my sins through the intercession of my Blessed Saviour Jesus Christ.

I will and direct that all my just debts be fully paid and satisfied by my Executor hereinafter named.

I give and bequeath unto my grand-son Patrick McGlennan of St. Catherines aforesaid issue of the marriage of John McGlennan and Sarah Renny, his wife deceased, all and every the property real and personal moveable and immoveable without any exception or reserve, save a cow which the said Patrick McGlennan shall give to Catherine McGlennan, my daughter, wife of James Brennan of St. Catherines, Farmer after my decease, which I may die possessed of instituting him my said grand son my universal legatee.

And I do hereby appoint my said grand son sole Executor of this my last will and testament revoking all former wills and codicils at any time heretofore by me made.

It was thus made, dictated and named by the said Patrick McGlennan, Testator, unto us the said Notaries on the day and year first above written. And the present Last Will and Testament having been read, read over and over again lu et relu au long to the said Patrick McGlennan by Mtre. Edward George Cannon, one of us the said Notaries in the presence of Mtre. John B. Parkin, his confrere, who was present all the time during the execution hereof the said Patrick McGlennan declared to have fully heard and understood the said will and testament and persisted in the contents thereof.

Don and passed at the said City of Quebec in the office of the said Edward George Cannon on Donnacona Street in the Upper Town of the said City of Quebec on the day and year first above written in the afternoon, the said Testator having declared not to know how to write or sign made his ordinary mark or cross in the presence of us the said Notaries subscribing.

Two words struck out are null.

Died in Marquette due to Inf. of Bowels, son of Dennis Hogan and Eliza Hogan of Marquette.
The cemetery record states the following - William Hozan, male, white, death age - 1, birth date - 1875, Marquette, Marquette, Michigan, Father - Dennis Hozan, Mother - Eliza Hozan, File #55. Broken stone, top missing, aged 14 months. It appears that the original death registration may be incorrect and that he died in 1876 based on the age given and the age on the stone.6,7

Mrs. Eliza Hogan died at 312 W. Michigan on Feb. 27, 1928 at 3:45pm. She had lived in Marquette for 59 years, 12 days. Eliza was white, widowed and wife of Denis Hogan. She was born August 23, 1842 in Barrie, Ontario to John McGlone (born Ireland) and his wife. She was 85 yrs., 6 months and 4 days old when she died of general senility with gradual wasting away. Over the past two years she had had a number of slight strokes. Her doctor had followed her from January 24th and he had last seen her the day before she died. She was a housewife. She was buried in Holy Cross Cemetery on March 1st. Ed. J. Hogan of Marquette filed the certificate on March 1st.1,2
