Be it Known that on the twenty fifth day of June in the Year of Our Lord One thousand eight hundred and eighty six the last Will and Testament of Redmond Sage late of the Township of North Norwich in the County of Oxford Yeoman who died on or about the first day of May in the year of Our Lord One thousand eight hundred and eighty six at the said Township of North Norwich and who at the time of his death had a fixed place of abode at the Township of North Norwich in the County of Oxford was proved and registered in the said Surrogate Court. A true copy of which said last Will and Testament is hereto annexed and that the administration of all and singular the personal estate and effects, rights and credits of the said deceased and anyway concerning his Will was granted by the aforesaid Court to Ellen Sage of the Township of North Norwich in the County of Oxford, widow; John Sheahan of the same place Esquire and Joseph Kirwan of the Township of Dereham in the said County of Oxford, Yeoman, the Executors named in the said Will they having been first sworn well and faithfully to administer the same by paying the just debts of the deceased and the legacies contained in his Will so far as they thereunto bound by law and to exhibit a true and perfect Inventory of All and Singular the said Estate and Effects Rights and Credits to render a just and true account of then Executorship whenever required by law to so so. Caufield Register of the Surrogate Court of the County of Oxford This is the last Will and Testament of me Redmond Sage of the Township of North Norwich in the County of Oxford in the Province of Ontario, Yeoman - 1. I direct that my just debts and funeral and testamentary expenses be paid out of my Estate by my Executors hereinafter named. 2. I give and bequeath unto my wife, Ellen Sage, all my household furniture and household effects of every kind to hold to her absolutely. 3. I give and devise unto my Executors hereinafter named my farm consisting of the south half of Lot number Twenty eight and the Southwest Quarter of Lot Number Twenty Seven in the Fifth Concession of the said Township of North Norwich to hold to them in trust to sell and dispose thereof either by public auction or private sale or partly by public auction and part by private sale and at such time or times as they in their discretion shall see fit and upon such terms of credit as they may think advisable and to convey the same to any purchaser of purchaser thereof. 4. I give and bequeath all of my personal property to my said Executors in trust to sell and dispose thereof in the same manner as the lands are directed to be disposed of in the third paragraph reserving for my wife the household furniture and effects. 5. In the meantime and until such sales are effected my wife and family are to reside upon and work the farm all the children having a house there and necessary clothing and education for the younger children. 6. After such sales are effected, I direct my Executors to pay to my widow one third of the proceeds of my personal estate and her Dower in the lands such Dower to be ascertained by the Local Master in Chancery at Woodstock. 7. As to the remainder of my estate and effects I give and bequeath the same as followeth: To my son Redmond, the sum of three thousand dollars. To my son, Anthony, the sum of One thousand dollars. To my son, George, the sum of One thousand dollars. To my son, James the sum of One thousand dollars. To my daughter, Mary Ellen, the sum of Five hundred dollars. To my daughter, Sarah, the sum of Five hundred dollars. To my daughter, Catherine, the sum of Five hundred dollars. To my daughter, Elizabeth, the sum of Five hundred dollars. To my daughter, Agnes Theresa, the sum of Five hundred dollars. 8. None of the said legacies are to be paid until the child to receive each such legacy attains the full age of Twenty one years unless in the case of the girls on the marriage of any one of them before attaining full age such marriage being with their mother's consent the Executors are authorized to pay One hundred dollars on account for an outfit. 9. Should there not be sufficient to pay the legacies to my children in full then all the said legacies are to abate in proportion, and if there by a surplus the same is be equally divided between my wife and children. 10. Upon such sales taking place my Executors may leave the shares of the children who may be under age at that time either on mortgage upon my lands or in any investment on lands in this Province they may see fit and they are directed to pay the accruing interest upon such shares during their minority to their mother for and towards the support and education of such minor children. Lastly, I appoint my wife, Ellen Sage, and my friend, John Sheahan of North Norwich, Esquire and my friend Joseph Kirwan of Dereham, Yeoman, Executors of this my last Will hereby revoking and making null and void all former or other last Wills or Testaments or writing s in the nature of last wills or Testaments by me at any time hereto fore made. In witness where of I have hereunto set my had and seal this Fifteenth day of April in the Year of Our Lord, One thousand eight hundred and eighty six. | Obituary* | December 2015 | 'Genevieve Teresa (Samz) Jensen, age 91, of Tomah, Wisconsin, passed away December 14, 2015, at the Morrow Memorial Home in Sparta, WI. She was born March 6, 1924, at her rural home to Richard and Teresa (Fitzpatrick) Samz at Argonne, WI. She graduated from Argonne High School in 1942 and joined the Cadet Nursing Corp in February of 1944. Gen entered Nurse’s Training at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, WI. After attaining her RN degree she worked at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rhinelander and later for a short time at the Tomah VA Medical Center. Genevieve was united in marriage to Gerald Jensen on June 10, 1950 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church by Rev. Father Brudermann. When Tomah Memorial Hospital opened in 1952 she started working there until June of 1963. She held various other positions including school nurse and was the City Health Officer for 30 plus years retiring at the age of 80. Gen was very proud of her Irish heritage. She is survived by her children, Richard (Linda) Jensen of Clarksville, MD, Eric (Candace) Jensen of Tomah, WI and, Connie (Jim) Summerfield of Wilton, WI; two grandchildren, Megan (John Dingman) Jensen and their daughter, Madelyn of Tomah, WI and Clint Jensen of Milwaukee, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Teresa, her husband, Gerald, three brothers and a sister, three half-sisters and two half-brothers. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 9, 2016, 10:30 a.m. at the Queen of the Apostles Parish at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tomah. Father Clayton Elmhorst will officiate. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends are invited for visitation Saturday, January 9, 2016 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. The Torkelson Funeral Home of Tomah is assisting the family with arrangements. The family would like to thank Touch of Home in Tomah, the Morrow Memorial Home in Sparta and Gundersen Lutheran Hospice Care for the wonderful care given to Genevieve."2 |
