Charles Kack is his other neighbor. Edward and Bridget lived on Lot #853 which was eventually sold to Edward Cassin (their son) and Mary Jane Brennan and remained in her name until about 1918 when it was sold to Fred Kack and in 2000 belongs to his son, Cecil Kack.

She nursed during the flu epidemic in 1918 and later did private duty nursing.⁷

Thomas John Mathew Monogue; Hamilton, Wentworth County, Ontario, Canada; The Cassin family was living at 112 Alpine Ave. Also around this time, we know that the Monogue family was living at 12 Hamilton Ave. which is a few blocks away. Tom was supposedly a friend of Catheine's brother, Bill. This proximity might have led to Catherine and Tom meeting and marrying in 1922. After they married they stayed in the same area, living on Concession Street and later E. 22nd Street. Also, Tom served as pallbearer for Bridget Cassin in November, 1919.

Dear mother of Mary (Mrs. L. Liss) of Hamilton, Patrick of Texas, Betty (Mrs. J. Alpaugh) of Ancaster, Catherine (Mrs. W. Durka) of Hamilton, Madelyn (Mrs. P. Daly), of Hamilton. Also survived by nineteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Monogue was a former member of the C.W.L. of Sacred Heart Church. Funeral Thursday 9am. from the Dermody-Markey Funeral Home, 7 East Ave. South to Sacred Heart Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am. Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Recitation of the Rosary Wednesday 8pm. Visiting 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. Wednesday."²⁴

The cemetery extract states she was 85, a housewife, and born in Valcartier, Quebec. Her last address was St. Joseph's Villa, Dundas, Ontario. The cemetery plot is in Section 21, Row 27, Lot 41 and 42, Grave 42.^25,23

Age - 25 years, 3 months, 5 ft., 8 1/2 inches tall. Chest measurement - 40 inches fully expanded, range of expansion- 3 inches. Ruddy complexion, blue eyes, light hair, scar right thigh.
"Discharge Documents": Regiment #3348236, Rank - Private; Corps - 1st Depot Battalion Manitoba Regiment. Enlisted on the 16th of July 1918 and is being discharged on July 25, 1918 as being medically unfit. Medical examination stated he weighted 158 pounds, 5'8" tall, blue eyes, vaccination mark left, good nutritionl. Had mitral and pulmonary systolic murmur apparent after exertion, experienced dyspnea and dizziness after climbing flight of stairs. Pulse 96, some hardening of the arteries, BP 145/90. As a result of the heart problem, he was discharged.^7,8
