Will* | 19 December 1860 | Ste-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier, Portneuf County, Quebec, Canada; 19th December 1860 Last Will of Julia Anderson Wife of Moses Cullen From records of Cyrille Tessier Record No. 494 Transcribed from the original at the Quebec Archives On this day the nineteenth of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty, before us the undersigned Notaries duly admitted & sworn in and for that part of the Province of Canada called Lower Canada, residing in the City of Quebec, personally came and appeared Mistress Julia Anderson, wife of Moses Cullen, residing in the Parish of Ste. Catherine, County of Portneuf, who being of sound mind, memory & understanding requested us the said Notaries to receive her Last Will & Testament and which we, Cyrille Tessier, one of us, the undersigned Notaries (Henri Bolduc, our colleague, being present) have taken down, & thereupon, the said Julia Anderson did & doth hereby make, declare, publish and dictate her last will & testament word by word unto us, the aforesaid Notaries, in manner following, that is to say: I will & ordain that my funeral charges & just debts be paid by my executor hereinafter named. The residue of my estate & property which shall not be required for the payment of my just debts, funeral charges & the expenses attending the execution of my will and the administration of my estate, I give, devise and dispose thereof as follows, that is to say: First, I give, devise & bequeath all my property, real & personal, moveable & immoveable that I may die possessed of unto my beloved husband, Moses Cullen, to have and to hold the same to him & to his heirs, executors, administrators & assigns to his use and behoof for ever, instituting him my residuary legatee in property. And I do nominate & appoint my said beloved husband Moses Cullen to be the sole executor of this my last will & testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. Thus done & published, declared & dictated word by word by the said Testatrix to the said Cyrille Tessier in the presence of his colleague in the office of Cyrille Tessier on the day and year first above written under the number four hundred and ninety four. In faith & testimony whereof the said testatrix persisting in the foregoing as containing her last will & testament hath after these presents had been to her first twice duly read by the said Cyrille Tessier in the presence of his colleague set & subscribed her name with & in presence of us Notaries.
