On this twenty fifth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety five, before me Cyrille Renaud Public Notary residing in the parish of St. Ambroise [of] Jeune Lorette and the Father Hugh McGratty, Priest, and Lawrence Corrigan, Farmer, both of Valcartier in the County of Quebec witnesses requested for the effect of the presents personally appeared Michael Corrigan of said Parish of Valcartier, Farmer, who being of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding hath requested us the said Notaries to write down and receive in due form of law his last will and testament which he has declared in manner and form following, that is to say:

Firstly, I most willingly resign my soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator in the humble hope that he will receive it to his favor through the sole merits and intercession of Jesus Christ my Saviour.

Secondly, I desire that all my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses be paid by my executrix hereinafter named as soon as possible after my death.

Thirdly, I give and bequeath to my wife Jane Shea all my moveable and immovable properties wherever the same may be found and to whatever the same shall amount, hereby constituting my said wife my universal legatee to the charges and conditions following, that is to say: to pay the sum of four hundred dollars to each of my children at their respective age of majority. Secondly, to pay the sum of seventy five dollars each year during the time that my son Lawrence Corrigan shall remained with his mother, And thirdly to the express condition that if my said wife contracts a second marriage, she must take the sum of nine hundred dollars on my properties but she shall lose all rights on my properties and on properties to her resulting of the communauté de biens between me and the said Jane Shea.

Fourthly, I nominate, constitute and appoint my said wife as executrix of my said & present will.

I revoke all wills and codicils I may have heretofore made and I declare the present to be my only true last will and testament.

The present will was thus declared by the said Testator to the said Notary in the presence of witnesses aforesaid, read by Notary to the said Testator in presence of witnesses.

Done and passed at the residence of said Testator in the Parish of St. Gabriel of Valcartier under Notarial Number one thousand sixty four and the said Testator having declared his inability to sign his name by sickness has made his mark in presence of the Notary and witnesses and the said Notary and witnesses and the said Notary and witnesses have signed in presence of the Testator and in the presence of each other.

Know all men by these presents that I, Patrick Corrigan, heretofore of the Parish of St. Edmond of Stoneham, farmer, & now of Pittsville in the State of Wisconsin in the United States of America, has made, ordained, nominated, constituted & appointed by these presents do make, ordain, nominate & appoint Louis Jules Belanger of the City of Quebec, my true & lawful attorney for me & in my name & place & stead to sell, convey & dispose of unto John Corrigan of the said Parish of St. Edmond of Stoneham, farmer, all the rights that I the said Patrick Corrigan may have in the half of the north east side containing about one hundred acres in superficies more or less of lot number nine in the First Range of the Township of Stoneham situated in the said Parish of St. Edmond of Stoneham, or in the whole of the said lot with house, barn stable & dependencies the whole of said lot containing about two hundred acres in superficies or thereabouts, the said lot of land bearing the Cadastral Number nine of the lots in the First Range of the Parish of St. Edmond of Stoneham, County of Quebec.

I the said Patrick Corrigan being proprietor of the said part of said lot of land aforesaid in virtue of a deed of sale executed before Germain Guay Notary at Quebec the twenty ninth day of February one thousand eight hundred & eighty four & consented by William Corrigan of the Township of Stoneham, farmer, & Dame Jane Martin his wife duly authorized by her said husband in favor of I the said Patrick Corrigan & my brother John Corrigan & giving hereby & granting unto my said attorney full & absolute power & authority to do, perform & execute & sign all acts, deeds transferring the rights to me belonging in virtue of the said deed of sale executed before Guay Notary - the said sale to be made for & in consideration that the said John Corrigan shall & will pay all municipal taxes which may be or become due hereafter on the said lot of land & moreover to pay all legal claims which may become due hereafter by me the said Patrick Corrigan personally in reason of said lot of land - hereby ratifying & agreeing to ratify & confirm all & whatsoever my said attorney shall lawfully do in or about the said premises by virtue hereof.
