On this nineteenth day of March one thousand nine hundred and six, before me Cyrille Renaud, Public Notary, residing in the Parish of St. Ambroise of Jeune Lorette, undersigned, personally came and appeared Patrick Corcoran, Farmer, residing in the Parish of St. Gabriel of Valcartier who being of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding hath requested us the said Notary and witnesses to write down and receive in due form of law his last will and testament  which he has declared in manner and form following, that is to say:

1º I desire that all my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses be paid by my Executor hereinafter named as soon as possible after my death.

2º I give and bequeath to my son Patrick Corcoran, residing in the said Parish of St. Gabriel of Valcartier, Farmer, all my moveable and immoveable properties, whatever the same shall amount and wherever the same may be found, hereby constituting my said son my universal legatee.

3º This legacy is made to the charge by my said son to pay the sum of one hundred dollars to his sister Elizabeth Corcoran for all claim in my succession and in the succession of her mother Elizabeth Lennox.

4º I nominate, constitute and appoint my said son as Executor of this my will and testament.

5º I revoke all will and testament I may have heretofore made and I declare the present to be my only true last will and testament.

Done and passed at St. Ambroise under Notarial Number three thousand two hundred and forty three. And after the reading of the present will by the Notary to the said Testator in presence of François Savard, Blacksmith, and Joseph Falardeau, Painter, both of St. Ambroise of Jeune Lorette, the Testator having declared his inability to sign his name has made his mark in presence of the Notary and witnesses and the Notary and witnesses have signed in presence of Testator and in presence of each other.

Note: Patrick Corcoran (s/o Michael Corcoran & Catherine Kelly) married Elizabeth Lennox (d/o William Lennox & Elizabeth McDowel) in St- Gabriel-de-Valcartier Church on 4 October 1859. Their son Patrick Corcoran married Margaret Conway (d/o Francis Conway & Judith Guilfoyle) in Valcartier on 4 October 1904 and their daughter Elizabeth Corcoran married Thomas Cullerton (s/o Patrick Cullerton & Ann Corrigan) in Valcartier on 26 June 1907.

Note by Patricia Balkcom:  Patrick died 5 years later on 11 April 1911 at about 79 years of age.  He had ten known children; at least four of them predeceased him.
