On this day the third day of December in the year of our Lord One Thousand nine hundred and twenty one, Before me Cyrille Renauld, notary, residing at Loretteville, undersigned, personally appeared Mary Ann Hicks, wife of Charles Jack, residing in the parish of St. Gabriel of Valcartier, Who being of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding hath requested us the said notary to write down and received in due form of law her last will and testament which she has declared in manner and form following that is to say.
1.- I most willingly resign my soul into the hands of almighty God, my creator in the humble hope that he will receive it to his favor through the sole merits and intercession of Jesus-Christ my savior.
2.-I desire that all my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses be paid by my executor herein after named as soon as possible after my death.
3.-I give and bequeath unto my beloved husband Charles Jack all my moveable and immoveable properties wherever the same may be found and to whatever the same shall amount hereby constituting my said husband my universal legatee. But in the case of a second marriage of my husband my said properties or the rest of my said properties shall belong and become the properties of my children however my said husband is dispensed of inventory.
4.-I nominate constitute and appoint my said husband my universal legatee and the executor of this my will and testament.
DONE and Passed at Loretteville under notarial number eight thousand seven hundred and eighty seven. After the reading of the present testament by the notary to the testator in the presence of Jules Falalardeau and Albert Fournier, merchant and carriage maker, both of Loretteville witnesses requested, the testator, the notary and the witnesses have signed in the presence of each others.

Notes by Patricia Balkcom: Mary Ann did not die until 1954 and she outlived her husband by 26 years, so I suspect there is a later will.
