This is my will, I, John Holton, of the Parish of St. Gabriel of Valcartier, Farmer, give and bequeath unto my son Michael all my property moveable and immoveable of any kind whatsoever and I institute him my universal legatee in full property from the date of death.
Done and signed at Quebec this eight day of May of the year one thousand and nine hundred.

NOTE: John Holton died 25 January 1907, aged 80 years. Catherine, his wife, had died almost 20 years earlier. Michael was his youngest son.
