On this third day of the month of July one thousand nine hundred and eighteen at the hour of ten of the clock in the forenoon, before me Mtre. Edward A. Panet, the undersigned Notary Public, duly commissioned and sworn in and residing and practising in the Parish of Saint Raymond and Province of Quebec and in the presence of Joseph Frs. Moison and François Xavier Moison, both clerks residing in the Village of St. Raymond, witnesses required by law and especially called yo witness this present last will and testament, came and appeared Dame Jane Livingston, widow of the late John Davidson, in his life time of the Parish of St. Raymond, Farmer, who being of sound and disposing mind, memory, judgment and understanding as it appeared unto us Notary and witnesses from her words and actions yet knowing and considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time thereof, and being desirous of regulating her worldly affairs, whilst yet she hath the health and strength left to do so, hath made, dictated and nominated unto us Notary and witnesses in the manner and form following:
1º I recommend my should to Almighty God, my Creator.
2º I will and order that my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses be first paid by my Executor hereinafter named.
3º I will and order that my body be buried in a manner suitable to my station in life in the Cemetery of the Anglican Church of Bourg Louis next to my late husband.
4º I give, devise and bequeath to my daughter, Margaret Alice Davidson at present living with me and unmarried, the whole of my property, moveable and immoveable, ready money, rights, and actions and all other property I may die possessed of in full property and ownership.
5º I will, wish and desire that in the event of the death of the said Margaret Alice Davidson, still unmarried, the whole of the property, moveable and immoveable, ready money, rights, and actions or the balance thereof, I give, devise and bequeath to my children issue of my marriage with the said late John Davidson to be equally divided between them share and share alike, the children of any of my deceased children inheriting the share of their deceased parent.
I hereby nominate, constitute and appoint my son John Davidson of the City of Quebec, an employee of the Canadian Northern Railway, Executor of this my present last will, hereby revoking and repealing all other and former wills and codicils by me heretofore made instituting and desiring that the present alone be followed, extending the power of my said Executor beyond the day and year allowed by law.
It was thus named, dictated and nominated by the said Testator to the said undersigned Notary and in presence of said witnesses and the said Testatrix persisted herein after the reading thereof as fully to embody and contain her last will and testament.
Thus done and passed at Saint Raymond in the office of the undersigned Notary on the day, month, year and hour first above written.
In testimony whereof the said Testatrix declaring her inability to write or sign her name, but made her usual mark of a cross in the presence of the said Notary and witnesses who have each signed with and in the presence of the said Testatrix and in the presence of each other, these presents having been first duly read by the said Notary to the said Testatrix in presence of said witnesses, these presents bearing the number ten thousand and two of the original deed remaining of record in the office of the undersigned Notary.
