On this eleventh day of November one thousand nine hundred and twenty four, before me Cyrille Renaud, Notary, residing at Loretteville, undersigned, personally appeared Dora Emma Neil, wife of William Bedard of Valcartier, Farmer, and who being of sound & disposing mind, memory and understanding, hath requested me the said Notary to write down and receive in due form of law her last will & testament which he has declared in manner and form following, that is to say: –

1- I most willingly resign my soul into the hands of Almighty God, my Creator, in the humble hope that he will receive it to his favor through the sole merits and intercession of Jesus Christ, my Saviour.

2- I desire that all my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses be paid by my Executor hereinafter named as soon as possible after my death.

3- I leave and bequeath to my husband, William Bedard, all my moveable & immoveable properties wherever the same may be found & to whatever the same shall amount hereby constituting my said husband my universal legatee, with the sole charge and obligation to pay to each of my sons, Russell William & Gordon Francis Bedard to each of them the sum of five hundred dollars at the age of majority to each of them but the said sum shall not be hypothecate nor mortgage on the immoveable properties, and my said husband will have the right to mortgage or sell the said if he likes.

4- I nominate, constitute and appoint my said husband William Bedard my universal legatee & the Executor of this my will.

5- I revoke all wills I may have heretofore made & I declare the present to be my only true last will and testament.

Done & passed at Valcartier in the residence of said Testatrix under notarial number nine thousand six hundred and eleven.

After the reading of the present will to the Testatrix by the Notary in presence of William Neil & Thomas Lavallee, both farmers of Valcartier, the Testatrix, the Notary and witnesses have signed in the presence of each other.
