On this day the twenty first of September one thousand eight hundred and ninety two, before the undersigned Notaries Public for the Province of Quebec, Canada, residing in the City of Quebec, personally came and appeared Mrs. Margaret Teaffe, of the Parish of St. Edmond of Stoneham, widow of Patrick Pearl in his life time of the Parish of St. Catherine, County of Portneuf, Farmer, who has made as follows her last will and testament:

I give, devise and bequeath to my son, James Pearl, all property, real and personal, moveable and immoveable, which I may die possessed of, instituting him my universal legatee subject to his taking care of and supporting his brother John Pearl and procuring him the necessities of life provided the latter be willing to work and devote his time and attention to his brother James.

At my said son James’ death I wish my property to revert to his sister Marguerite if she be then living, subject to the same obligations in favor of my said son John.

I hereby exempt my said son James from the obligation of making an inventory of my estate and there need be no counter appointed to the substitution created above. I place full confidence and reliance on my said son James.

I also specially desire no lien or mortgage to exist or be taken on any part or portion of my estate for securing the above charge of supporting my son John.

This last will and testament received by Cy. Tessier, Notary, in the presence of G.F. C. de Léry, his colleague, having been read to the Testatrix by the first named Notary in the presence of his said colleague she has declared well to understand the same and has persisted in the same as containing her last intentions.

At Quebec, office of the said Cy. Tessier under number eight thousand four hundred and forty eight of his records.

In witness whereof the Testatrix has signed together with and in the presence of the said Notaries who have also signed in the presence of the the Testatrix and of one another after the reading done.
