This article appeared the the July, 2000 edition the Fleurs Plantes Jardins magazine. Although I can’t read much French, it is a delight to look at the beautiful photographs of this Valcartier garden. The property was originally the homestead of John Cosgrove and Mary McGrath who bought the property from George Calback in 1841 when they arrived from Ireland. The property remained in the Cosgrove family for over 100 years and was eventually bought by the Bedard sisters who obviously put a lot of work into planting these beautiful gardens.

Thank you to Hubert Cosgrove of Montreal for providing this article. He is the great-great-grandson of John and Mary Cosgrove.
