Armstrong From records of Notary Cyrille Renaud No. 732 Translated from the Original Will at the Quebec Archives On this thirtieth day of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety three, before me Cyrille Renaud Public Notary residing in the parish of St. Ambroise of Jeune Lorette, personally came and appeared Alexander McNicoll, Farmer residing in the Parish of St. Gabriel of Valcartier, who being of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding hath requested us, the said Notary and witnesses, William Hornby and John Boyd, Farmers of Valcartier, to receive in due form of law his last will and testament which he has declared in manner and form following, that is to say: Firstly and principally, I most willingly resign my soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator in the humble hope that he will receive it to his favour through the sole merits and intercession of Jesus Christ my Saviour. Secondly, I desire that all my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses be paid by my Executor hereinafter named as soon as possible after my death. Thirdly, I give and bequeath to David McNicoll my son two lands situated in the Parish of St. Gabriel of Valcartier containing six arpents in wide on forty two arpents in length bounded to the north Laughren, to the south Alex McNicoll, these lots of land are now known and distinguished upon the plan and Book of Reference under the number [not given]. Fourthly, I give and bequeath to my son George McNicoll residing in the said Parish of Valcartier three lots of lands situated in the said Parish of St. Gabriel of Valcartier containing nine arpents in wide on twenty one in length bounded to the south west by John Lavallée and to the north east by John Boyd with buildings thereon erected. These lots of land are now known and distinguished upon the plan and Book of Reference for the said Parish of Valcartier under number [not given]. Fifthly, I give and bequeath to my said son George McNicoll all my horses and animals whatsoever and carriage whatsoever and all the remainder of my properties moveable and immoveable to the charge to paid the sum of two hundred dollars to Agnes McNicoll and the sum of a hundred and fifty dollars to Jannet McNicoll my two girls and to give one horse to David McNicoll. And to the charge to take care of his two sisters Agnes and Jannet but they will be obliged to work to the profit of the said George McNicoll. But if the said David McNicoll take the two lots of land he will have no right to the sum of four hundred and fifty dollars given to him by the will of his mother by deed before the undersigned Notary the 13 September 1893, but the girls will have right to the sum mentioned in the two wills. Sixthly, I nominate, constitute and appoint my said son George McNicoll Executor of this my will. Seventhly, I revoke all will and codicils I may have heretofore made and I declare the present to be my only true last will and testament. The present will was thus declared by the said Testator to the said Notary in the presence of witnesses aforesaid, and by the said Notary in the presence of said witnesses read to the said testator who declared to understand it fully and persist therein.
