In the name of God, Amen. I, Michael Landers, of the Sixth Range of the Seigniory of Fossambault and Parish of St. Catherine do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say, - First, I bequeath my soul to God who gave it to me and my body to the earth from whence it came to be buried in a decent Christian like manner at the discretion of my executors hereafter to be mentioned. Then I will and bequeath to my dearly beloved mother 1¾ acres in breadth of land I now possess by 30 acres in length said land being and lying on the west side of my holding to have, hold and enjoy the said one and three quarters during her natural life. Further, I bequeath my mother the mare together with one cow and no more. Then, I will and bequeath to my dearly beloved wife, the remainder of the land which is now in my actual possession together with the young horse and all the other stock of every description whatsoever both goods and chattels without any let, hindrance or interruption by any person whatsoever claiming any part of my worldly property. Further I bequeath my wife the said one acre and three quarters after my mother's decease (i.e., if she survives my mother). Signed, sealed and delivered by said Michael Landers in the presence of us who are hereunto subscribed as witnesses, the twenty first day of May 1849. I hereby appoint Andrew Landrigan of the Fifth Range and Michael Hartery of the Parish of Valcartier sole Executors of this my last will and testament. This last will and testament received by Cyrille Tessier Notary in the presence of H.B. Delage, his colleague, having been read over to the said Testator by Cyrille Tessier, said Notary, in the presence of said J.B. Delage, he declared well to understand the same and has persisted in the same as containing his last will and intentions. At Quebec, office of the said Cy. Tessier, on the day and year first above written under the number three thousand nine hundred and fifty nine. In testimony whereof the said Testator has signed together with & in the presence of the said Notaries who have also signed in the presence of one another and of the testator after the reading done according to law. He stayed there until his death in 1919 at the age 0f 84 years. He wrote this will when he was only 36 years old, so there may be much later wills.3 |

I give, devise and bequeath the whole of my property moveable and immoveable real and personal, debts, obligations, ready money or wearing apparel which I may die possessed of without any exception or reserve whatsoever unto my son Malachy Landrigan whom I do hereby institute my universal and residuary legatee of all my property moveable and immoveable, real and personal, to have and to hold the same after my decease in full and absolute property, and I do hereby nominate and appoint the said Malachy Landrigan sole executor of this my present last will and testament in whose hands I deseize and divest myself of all my property moveable and immoveable hereby revoking and making null and void all other wills at any time heretofore by me made declaring the present to be my only true last will and testament. It was thus made, dictated and named by the said Testator unto me the said Notary and witnesses and the present last will and testament having been read over and over again to the said Andrew Landrigan by the said Notary in the presence of the said witnesses the said Andrew Landrigan declared to have perfectly heard and understood the same and presented therein declaring that it contained entirely his last will and testament. Done and passed at St. Ambroise under Notarial Number two thousand five hundred and forty four. And after the reading of the present testament by the Notary in presence of George Arthur Cloutier of St. Ambroise, Manufacturer, and Peter Murphy of Ste. Catherine, Farmer, both witnesses expressly requested the Testatrix has declared her inability to sign and write her name by sickness but has made her mark in presence of said witnesses and Notary and the Notary and witnesses have signed in the presence of the Testatrix and in the presence of each other.
